The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including the Chief Host, Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt. Professor Georgewill eloquently highlighted the indispensable nature of communication and telecommunications in Nigeria's contemporary economy. He emphasized the urgency for society to embrace digital innovation as a catalyst for sustainable development, underscoring the critical role played by CITE in advancing telecommunications research and digital initiatives. Professor Omijeh expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their unwavering support, including the Vice Chancellor, Professor Georgewill, and key organizations such as the National Communication Commission (NCC), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), NIEEE, ThinkCyber, MTN, COREN, ATC, Ericsson and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Dr. Sanuel Gambo, the South-South Coordinator of NITDA, delved into the role of digital technologies in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria. 2.
