The Centre for Information and Telecommunication Engineering [CITE] was established by the Senate of the University of Port Harcourt to train highly skilled manpower for ICT, Telecommunications and Instrumentation based Industries through a University-Industry based collaborative M.Sc Programmes In Embedded Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Control and Instrumentation Engineering and Information and Telecommunication Engineering.

Courses and “hands-on training” in the programme are being handled by seasoned academics and experienced experts from our industry partners and Foreign Partners: EU-Erasmus, Yokogawa, Applied Engineering Technology Initiative (AETI), Oracle, etc..

Mode of Programme:


a) Full-Time Programme: It is designed to run for 18 Calendar Months
b) Weekend Programme: It is designed to run for 100 weekends.

  • Admission Requirements:

    Admission Requirement: Five 0/Level credit passes including English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (minimum of second class -lower Division) in any of the Engineering Fields, Physical Sciences, Physics, Computer Science, IT, or any related field.
    Please note: Candidates with PGD (Upper Credit) would also be considered.
    Mode of Study and Duration: The M.Sc. Embedded AI degree is a full-time program. The program duration is a minimum of 18 months. The timetable is very flexible with “weekend modular options”.
    Mode of Course Delivery: The courses shall be delivered using a “Blended Learning” approach (physical and virtual participation)
